Being sick is one of the worst things that can happen to you. You feel like your life has always been that way and you can’t remember being healthy. It is a distant memory. Even if it’s just the common cold, you wish you could remember breathing clearly through your nose, or having a clear head. If it’s something more complicated like cancer (though I’ve never had it) after time, you might forget what it was like to have hair. And when we’re healthy, we have a hard time with sympathy for the sick because you can’t feel what they have. We always take health for granted, or at least I know I do. We should be happy for our health every day and be glad for its return when we’re sick.
