The Parable of the 3 men
October 31, 20063 men went to a banquet with the king. They sat two on one side and one on the other side of the king. When the feast bean, only 2 of the men spoke. One was foolish in his words and spoke without thought. He angered the king with unintentional insults and so, was thrown into prison.
The second man was a guest from a distant land. He boasted of his land’s militia and of the war his home was planning against his host. Because of his careless words, the king was aware of the plots against him and was prepared. The man was held as a hostage because o his bragging.
Only 1 man of the 3 remained. He chose his words carefully throughout the banquet, speaking only of good things toward the king. The king found favor with him because of his kind words and rewarded him, for he who holds his tongue finds rewards.
